Melissa attended Louisiana State University and graduated in 2005 with a degree in Education. After four years of teaching high school math, she returned to LSU part-time to explore accounting. She joined Faulk & Winkler as an intern in the pension department, completed the coursework for the CPA exam, and earned her CPA designation in 2012. Her early years in the classroom gave her valuable mentoring and communication skills, which now enrich her relationships with clients and colleagues.
Melissa resides in Baton Rouge with her husband Patrick and their two dogs. They enjoy the local culture and especially the city’s culinary offerings. Outside of work, Melissa loves reading, playing pickleball with her dad, traveling, and spending time with her five nephews.
"Each client is important and should feel valued. I make that happen by maintaining high standards of excellence with a focus on client service. Pay attention to details and deadlines. Provide quality work and knowledgeable advice. And most importantly, be an advocate for your client. They are counting on you to guide them in the right direction."
